Man to Stand Trial in June For Northville Hit-and-Run

Kevin Alexander of South Lyon is scheduled to stand trial in June for the of 25-year-old Joshua Green of West Bloomfield in December 2011.

According to an update from the office of Wayne County prosecutor Kym Worthy, Alexander was charged with failure to stop at the scene of a serious personal injury accident and will stand trial before a jury in the Third District Court on June 5. This charge has a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine, according to a previous police press release.

Maria Miller, spokewoman for the prosecutor's office, declined to comment on the record to Northville Patch about whether Alexander pleaded guilty or not guilty.

In December, Green was walking with friends on Griswold Street in Downtown Northville, according to a police report. He was struck by an SUV while he was standing on the road. Witnesses say the SUV sped away from the scene. Police attempted to for months and Green died from his injuries.
