Northville Stadium Donor Wall Needs Finishing Touches

The Northville TURF CLUB and its donors are responsible for several upgrades at Tom Holzer Ford Field.

Tom Holzer Ford Field now has new lighting, a press box, multi‐sport scoreboard, audio equipment and artificial turf.

All of these improvements were done through Phase I of the Northville TURF CLUB's project to update the school district's athletic stadium.

The most visible work is complete, according to an email from Northville athletics, and now the TURF CLUB looks forward to completing the final phase. This year's Night for Northville fundraiser raised enough to complete the funds for Phase II.

According to information in the email, contributions will be used with sinking bond funds to:

  • upgrade the team rooms
  • add a new, larger storage facility
  • construct an inviting new entrance on the north side showcasing the Donor Recognition Plaza
  • install new and improved restroom facilities
  • refurbish and upgrade our concessions stand

The Northville schools board of education awarded a contract at its April 23 meeting to Great Lakes Hotel Supply Company for stadium concession equipment, funded by TURF CLUB, for $36,547.

The club's final goal is to raise $75,000 for a new ticket booth for the south end of the stadium and the finishing touches on the Donor Wall.

"Please reflect on how far we have come together, and consider a final contribution to leave a lasting legacy," the TURF CLUB said in a letter to the community.

The Donor Wall recognition levels include values from $500 to $10,000 or more.
