Pear-aphernalia Re-Opens Next Week Under New Owners

The downtown Northville store was once thought to be gone for good.

The trendy decor shop Pear-aphernalia closed last month when the owners decided to leave. Previous owners Pat Stempien and Lori Finnegan, who ran the store for 12 years, put up a sign advertising a clearance sale.

However, the store wasn't going to be gone for good.

A note outside the store, at 184 East Main St., indicated the business found new owners and the store would remain open with the same products under new management.

"Pear-aphernalia has been sold and will soon reopen under new management," the note read. "Same name. Same store. Same great product lines."

Now there is a new sign outside Pear-aphernalia advertising its grand re-opening May 3 at 10 a.m.

The Northville Downtown Development Authority does not know who the new owners are. But a sign that was posted before the grand re-opening banner indicated that the owners may have been patrons of the store. The sign read: "We loved them too, so ... we bought it!"
