Police Arrest Man on Charges of Driving Under Influence of Alcohol

The following information was supplied by Northville Township police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Northville Township police arrested a man May 17 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a police report.

Police were dispatched to the area near Eight Mile and Beck roads for an erratic driver, the report said.

An officer saw the driver run into and drive over the curb onto the grass, according to the report. The officer stopped the driver and ran several sobriety tests, the report said.

The officer smelled alcohol on the man, according to the report. The man agreed to take a preliminary breathalyzer test, which had a result of .155 percent blood alcohol content, the report said. The legal limit in Michigan is .08.

The officer arrested the man, who has a court date for May 29 at 35th District Court.
