Police Arrest Novi Woman on Charges of Possessing Marijuana

City of Northville police arrested a Novi woman June 11 on charges of possessing marijuana, according to a police report.
An officer saw someone driving near the intersection of Center and Dunlap streets in a car without its headlights on, the report said. The officer stopped the driver and smelled marijuana coming from the car, according to the report. The driver said there was none but he and his passengers smoked marijuana a couple of hours before, the report said.
The officer called for a K9 unit, according to the report.

The man said that it was the female passenger who brought the marijuana that they smoked earlier, the report said, and she said it was in a small box under the passenger seat. The substance tested positive for marijuana in a field test, according to the report.
The officer arrested the woman, who posted a $300 bond and has a hearing July 1.
