Police Arrest Rochester Hills Woman on Charges of Driving While Intoxicated

The woman told police she felt a little buzzed, according to a police report.

Northville Township police arrested a Rochester Hills woman July 6 on charges of driving while intoxicated and having open intoxicants in a vehicle, according to a Northville Township police report.

An officer saw the driver of a 2008 Dodge Avenger crossing over the fog line on Seven Mile Road near Haggerty Road, the report said. The officer stopped the driver and could smell intoxicants coming from the vehicle, the report said.

The driver said that she was drinking 1800 Tequila and felt a little buzzed, according to the report. She said that she had two mixed drinks of tequila and cranberry juice at a friend's house, the report said.

Her preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .126 percent blood alcohol content, according to the report. The legal limit is .08 percent.

The officer arrested her for driving while intoxicated and then found a half full bottle of 1800 Tequila in the car's glove box, the report said. The officer subsequently charged her for having open intoxicants in a vehicle, according to the report. 

She has a hearing July 24 at 35th District Court.
