Stereos at Center of 2 Car Break-Ins

The following information was supplied by Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man on the 17000 block of Cove Drive reported that the stereo was stolen out of the dashboard of his Chrysler 200 sometime between 5 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 8, according to a police report. The right rear window had been broken out, the report said. According to the police report, the stereo's wires were cleanly cut.

In a different police report, a woman reported that someone broke the window of her car in an attempt to steal her new stereo on Nov. 7. The woman's G6 was parked at the edge of her driveway on Stonebrook Court and was locked, the report said. When she left the house at 7 a.m., she noticed the left rear door window was broken out and a speaker box was on the ground next to the door, the report said. The box was previously on the back seat on the left side, she said. The speakers were just installed in her car and she had not thrown away the boxes yet, the report said.
