Woman Charged in Northville Child Abuse Case

Olivia Kwiatkowski, 18, was arraigned Friday on charges relating to the abuse of her 23-month-old nephew.

Olivia Suzanne Kwiatkowski, 18, was arraigned in 35th District Court Friday for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Her boyfriend — Dylan James Dunlap, 19, of Northville Township — was charged last week with repeatedly hitting and burning her 23-month-old nephew with a lighter.

She is five months pregnant with Dunlap's child, according to the county prosecuting attorney.

Because of Kwiatkowski's condition, the attorney requested that Plakas not issue a new bond but transfer the previous one from charges of failing to report the abuse of her two-year-old nephew.

Judge James A. Plakas dismissed those charges in court Friday.

Kwiatkowski and Dunlap were babysitting the 2-year-old victim last week when the child abuse took place, according to police. She was aware of the abuse and she observed injuries on the victim, police said, but did not notify the police of this abuse.

She has a pre-sentence investigation scheduled for June 7 in 35th District Court.
