City Seeks Your Input on Community Development Block Grant Funds

How should the City of Novi allocate the $91,654 in funds?

The City of Novi will hold a public hearing on the use of Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG).

The hearing will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 West Ten Mile Road, for the purpose of hearing public comments on how to allocate 2014's CDBG — in the approximate amount of $91,654 — to fund eligible projects.

The City of Novi receives this federal funding on an annual basis.  The Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee (HCD) was formulated for the purpose of reviewing community development needs in regards to these CDBG funds. The committee works in conjunction with city administration to develop annual CDBG goals for the City of Novi.  These goals are then used to determine a funding recommendation that is proposed to the citizens of Novi through a public hearing process. City council authorizes the final recommendation that is submitted in an annual application.

All interested citizens are requested to attend Tuesday's public hearing.
