Novi Civic Center Hosts Colored Pencil Exhibit
The Colored Pencil Society of America will be showcased through October.

The City of Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is honored to have been selected to host the exceptional artwork of the Colored Pencil Society of America in the Civic Center Atrium Gallery. The exhibit will be displayed through Oct. 30. A public opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12 from 7-9 p.m. with light refreshments served.
The Colored Pencil Society was established in 1990 and is an international organization, with more than 1,700 members in 11 countries. The purpose of the Colored Pencil Society is to promote the stature and awareness of colored pencil art as a viable art form and to provide a forum for the education of, communication with, and recognition of colored pencil artists.
The next and final exhibit of 2012 in the Novi Civic Center Atrium Gallery will be ArtsNovi in November showcasing art by local Novi artists. Other opportunities for viewing public art displays in Novi include sculptures at Fuerst Park and ITC Community Sports Park and multiple installations at the Novi Public Library.
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is currently seeking artists for Novi Civic Center Atrium Gallery shows in 2013. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 5.
