The Great Lakes Art Fair was created in April 2009 by Blair Bowman, owner of the Suburban Collection Showplace, to replace the Sugarloaf Art Fair. In the same year, the Suburban Collection Showplace launched the “Generation Next” project. The Generation Next project provides elementary, middle and high school students with a venue to display their personal artwork, alongside local artists. Since the inception of the Generation Next project, an ongoing partnership between the Great Lakes Art Fair and local school districts within the Tri-County areas continues to thrive. Every student participating in this year’s art fair will receive special recognition, including a certificate of achievement.
