Gardner-White To Open Store Within Novi Best Buy

Gardner-White Furniture announced Tuesday that it will open new locations inside two local Best Buy stores on Sept 21. One store will open in the Novi location in West Oaks, and one will open in the Bloomfield location on Telegraph. 

Steve Tracey, president of Gardner-White, described the new retail concept and shopping experience as “the ultimate in consumer convenience." He said it will save customers time and money.

The opening of the two new locations will mark the first time ever that a major furniture retailer has built new stores within existing locations of a major consumer electronics retailer. 

“This brand new retailing concept works because furniture and consumer electronics are two product categories that fit really well together,” said Tracey. “In fact, the first time we offered a free TV with the purchase of furniture, the customer demand was overwhelming.”

The new Gardner-White stores will include reclining furniture, leather furniture, entertainment centers and brand name mattresses. The stores will be staffed by Gardner-White employees. 

Gardner-White’s footprint will be nearly 8,000 square-feet in the Bloomfield Hills store and 10,000 square-feet in the Novi-West Oaks location.

Grand Opening Parties & Prizes

Both stores are set to open their doors on Sept. 21, and they will host public grand opening parties on Sept. 28, 29 and 30 to give away more than $25,000 in prizes, plus a $10,000 Gardner-White shopping spree. Drawings will be held for prizes every 30 minutes.

Prizes include  51” Samsung TVs, leather sectionals and reclining sofas, entertainment centers, brand name mattresses, Kindle Fires, 32” Toshiba TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and more.  No purchase is necessary to enter any prize drawing. All winners must be present at the time of the drawing with the exception of the grand prize drawing for the $10,000 shopping spree. Gardner-White will also be giving away DVD copies of The Avengers with any purchase.

While the parties and prizes are free, Gardner-White is requesting donations of clean, new or gently used blankets to give to someone in need this winter. Gardner-White will match the total number of blankets donated by guests. All blankets will be given to Volunteers of America for local distribution.

Hours of the grand opening parties are Friday, Sept. 28 from 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 30 from noon to 6 p.m.
