Interdenominational Holiday Show Features Novi Resident
Jan Cartwright plays the mother in "Greetings!"

Two Muses Theatre presents an interdenominational holiday show: Greetings! by Tom Dudzick. The show will be performed on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons from Nov. 23 through Dec. 16. Two Muses Theatre performs in the intimate 160-seat theatre inside Barnes & Noble Booksellers, located at 6800 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield (south of Maple).
The Los Angeles Times described Greetings! as “a wonderful, wacky look at how cleverly a mixture of Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Age philosophy can – in the right hands – flick on the electricity.”
In this comedy, Andy Gorski (Stephen Blackwell of Berkley) has a loving mother (Jan Cartwright of Novi), a very special brother (Richard Payton of Ferndale), a crabby Catholic father (Henry Nelson of Chesterfield) and an atheist Jewish fiancée (Angela Kay Miller of Pinckney). When he brings his fiancée home for Christmas, it incites an entertaining, domestic brawl about religious differences. But just when tempers begin to flare, miracles begin to occur.
Diane Hill, Two Muses co-founder said, “It’s an unusual script for the holidays. It’s got all the great one-liners of a hilarious comedy, it’s got the warmth of Frank Capra family movie, and it’s got a twist that the audience won’t see coming, but they will definitely leave the theater talking about.”
Director and Two Muses Co-Founder Barbie Weisserman said, “I wanted to direct this play not only because it’s interdenominational, but because when I read it, it made me laugh; it made me cry; and it gave me tingles all at the same time. And now as we’re rehearsing it, this cast is really breathing life into the characters and believable family dynamics, and it’s making me laugh, cry and get tingles all over again.”
Advance tickets are available for $18 for adults and $15 for students and senior citizens, and can be purchased at www.twomusestheatre.org or by calling 248-850-9919. Tickets are also available at the door for an additional $2. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance.
