Novi Police Arrest Man After Finding Cocaine in His Car
The following information was supplied by Novi police. Arrest do not indicate convictions.

Novi police arrested a man the evening May 2 at South University's Novi campus after they found cocaine in his car, according to a police report.
Police were told about a suspicious vehicle in the area that had pulled into a campus parking lot, at 41555 Twelve Mile Road, the report said. Police found a man sleeping in the front seat of his car, according to the report. He told police he was sleeping in the parking lot because he pulled off the road to rest after getting tired while driving to East Lansing for his wife’s graduation.
The officer saw a prescription bottle on the passenger seat and found several different types of medication inside, according to report. The officer also saw a white substance in the prescription bottle, which was hard but not in a pill form, and the officer suspected it to be crack cocaine, according to the report.

The man said he did not know what it or the other pills were but had been arrested for possession of crack cocaine in the past, the report said. When the officer asked if there was anything else, the man handed him a bottle with several prescription pills.
The description of the pills on the label did not match what was inside, according to the report. An assisting officer brought a field test kit for cocaine and the substance from the first bottle tested positive for cocaine, the report said.
