Meet Novi's Stellar Student of the Week

Jakiyah Bradley is a strong contributor as a ninth grade student at Novi High School.

Jakiyah Bradley, 14, ninth grade student at Novi High School, was nominated by her social studies teacher Korey T. Nuckolls as Novi Community School District's student of the week.

She was nominated because of her pursuit for social justice and appreciation of diversity.

"Jakiyah has consistently gone above and beyond inside and outside our classroom. Jakiyah has applied the principle that learning must extend beyond the standards, a textbook, and the four walls of our school building," Nuckolls said.

"Jakiyah actively demonstrates that anything is possible. Jakiyah knows that her life has value. Jakiyah surrounds herself with people who help lift her up like a kite not people who want to bring her down like an anchor," he said.

Nuckolls said that Bradley realizes that learning is more than just grades but is a process, and she approaches each day like it is the educational Super Bowl.

"Novi High School is blessed to have Jakiyah as an empathetic, highly connected student. Wildcat Nation has a shining star for the next three years who will elevate, challenge, and inspire her peers to be leaders not just followers," he said.
