Novi Business Spotlight: Golf Tech

There are many interesting businesses that call Novi home, from clothing retailers to restaurants to salons and even businesses you might not have known existed in your own backyard.

This week, we're featuring Golf Tech, a business at 41300 W. 10 Mile Road, owned by Jim Kitchen. He tells us more about the business below.

Q: When were you founded?  

1991

Q: How did your business come to be?

When my Father retired from the Detroit Police Department in the late 1980s we opened our first custom golf clubs and repair center in Westland, MI.  Shortly after that, we did opened a few other locations and one of them was in Novi.  Our first Novi location was in the shopping center right behind the 7 Eleven on 10 Mile Rd. and Meadowbrooke Rd.  A few years back, we moved across the road to where we are right now.  Our new location is much more visible from the main road of 10 Mile and that has helped out business a great deal!

Q: Why did you choose the Novi area?

Novi was an upcoming city a good twenty years ago and it was the place to be!  As well, the Novi area has a great number of very avid golfers and we have had a booth at every Novi Golf Show, which has been held at the two Novi Expo Centers. In addition, I do also reside in Novi with my wife Andrea and our six kids.

Q: What kind of goods or services do you offer?

We carry a wide variety of golf clubs and golf accessories - balls, bags, training aids...  We also offer, full service custom clubs, complete repair services, driver, putter and wedge refinishing and even lessons and vector swing analysis.

Q: What's your most popular product or service?

Our most popular service is that of repairing broken or damaged golf clubs.

Q: What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?

We offer the very best in customer service when it comes to all of our customers!
