Novi's Emergency Run to Benefit Boston
Proceeds from the fourth annual 5K run and 1-mile walk will benefit The One Fund Boston.

The City of Novi Police and Fire Departments, in partnership with Providence Park Hospital, Sam’s Club and Running Fit, will host the fourth annual Emergency Run on Saturday, May 11.
The 5k run and one-mile stroke walk will be held on the Providence Park Hospital Campus (Grand River Avenue and Beck Road) in Novi. Last year’s event drew close to 400 participants.
Proceeds from this year’s run will benefit The One Fund Boston. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino announced the formation of The One Fund Boston, Inc. to aid the families most affected by the tragic bombings that occurred at the Boston Marathon on April 15.
“Four the past three years, the Emergency Run has been a compliment to healthy Novi initiatives and enhances the partnerships with those who provide emergency services to our community,” said David Molloy, Novi’s director of public safety and chief of police. “It is an honor to this year donate proceeds from the event to benefit the health and safety of another community and the victims impacted by the horrific events which occurred at the Boston Marathon."

"Boston Mayor Tom Menino is quoted ‘We are one Boston. We are one community. As always, we will come together to help those most in need. And in the end, we will be better for it.’ I encourage all Novi community and business members to join the Emergency Run and share how this spirit lives, too, in our community and assist those impacted," Molloy said.
This year’s event will also include a HealthFest that offers informational booths and displays, a Kid’s Korner, the opportunity to interact with emergency first responders, and refreshments.
Registration and the HealthFest begin at 8 a.m. with the run/walk beginning at 9 a.m. The pre-registration fee is $28 for the run and $12 for the walk. Children 8 and younger can participate for free. All pre-paid registrants will receive a dry-fit T-shirt. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each race category with all participating children receiving a medal.
On-line registration is available at noviemergencyrun.org and mail-in registration forms are available at cityofnovi.org. Registration forms are also available at the Novi Police Department, Providence Park Hospital and Running Fit of Novi.
