Novi's Half-Day Kindergarten May Be Eliminated
Before eliminating the program, the district is asking any parent of an incoming kindergarten student who is interested to let the district know.

Interest for the Novi Community Schools district's half-day kindergarten program is low this year.
However, before eliminating the program, the district is asking any parent of an incoming kindergarten student who is interested to let the district know.
The half-day kindergarten program would be at Deerfield or Orchard Hills elementary schools for the 2013-2014 school year. Transportation is not provided for students. Although, if a kindergarten student lives in the attendance area for whichever school hosts the program, that student could ride the bus in the morning but would need to be picked up after the program.

The district has not yet selected a teacher for this program. Jodi Balconi, the former teacher, will not be continuing with the program because she is choosing to stay at Novi Woods Elementary School.
Parents of incoming kindergarten students for the 2013-2014 school year who are interested and committed to a half-day kindergarten program should contact their home school by May 6 to get on the list.
