Novi Students to Return to School Wednesday
Despite the low wind chills, Novi Community Schools will be open.

The Novi Community School District closed schools Tuesday because of the extreme cold.
Although the freezing temperatures and wind chill values as low as 20 degrees below zero are to continue, Novi schools will be open Wednesday.
"Tomorrow morning temperatures will be -1 at 6:00 AM with wind chills between -18 to -20. By 9:00 AM the temperature is above zero with wind chills -12 to -15. It will be cold tomorrow morning. But with appropriate precautions everyone can be safe," Superintendent Steve M. Matthews said in an email to parents Tuesday afternoon.
Matthews offered the following advice for parents:Â
- Dress children warmly.
- If they wait for the bus be sure to have gloves, hats, and warm coats.
- If you drive your children to school please do not use the bus drop-off areas. That slows down our buses and delays our ability to pick students up on time.
If temperatures and wind chills drop dramatically overnight, there is a 3:30 a.m. weather call scheduled for Wednesday morning and the district may reevaluate whether to keep schools open, Matthews said.Â
