Novi Marching Band Heads to State Finals

The Novi High School marching band competes at Ford Field this weekend.

The Novi High School Marching Band is heading to the Michigan Competing Band Association finals Saturday at Ford Field in Detroit.

The Wildcats' performance this year is “In Love and War” and explores the emotions as loved ones go to war, the joy of reunion and the heartache when some don’t return.

During the competitive season, the Novi High School band enjoyed first place finishes at both the Troy Athens Invitational and the Great Lakes Invitational in Plymouth. Through the season the band has been recognized for excellence in music performance and the shows' overall effect.

Saturday’s Flight I band competition starts at 3:45 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 6:45 p.m. The Novi Wildcat Marching Band is scheduled to perform at 4:45 p.m.

Tickets are available at Ford Field and are $16 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.
