Play It Again Sports Holds 'Hockey Team of the Week' Contest

With professional hockey on hold at the moment, youth hockey is fast approaching, prompting the 10 Metro Detroit Play It Again Sports locations to bring back its popular “Hockey Team of the Week” campaign. A supporter of youth athletics, Play It Again Sports collects gently used equipment and retails it alongside new merchandise.
 
The contest is currently open for players, parents, coaches and fans to nominate teams online at PIASTeamoftheWeek.com. Once your team has been nominated, it will remain eligible for voting for the duration of the competition. Voting begins on Monday, Oct. 7 to pick a winning team each week.

Each week’s winner will receive a pizza party at their nearest Metro Detroit Play It Again Sports location, $10 in which to make a purchase in the store, and a chance to be entered into the grand prize drawing on Dec. 19. The grand prize is a trip for the entire winning team to the final Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Championship Game ever on Sunday, March 24 at Joe Louis Arena.

Due to re-organization in college hockey, after the 2012-2013 season, the CCHA will no longer exist. The annual tournament routinely features teams from Michigan.
