Police Arrest Mount Morris Man on Charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

The man was also charged with having open intoxicants in a vehicle, according to police.

Novi police arrested a Mount Morris, Mich., man Oct. 27 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a police report.

An officer saw the driver of a white 2005 Chevrolet Blazer driving on I-96 near Haggerty Road while unable to maintain within a single lane, the report said.  The officer stopped the driver, smelled intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle and noticed his eyes were glassy, according to the report.

The man's preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .135 percent blood alcohol content, the report said. The legal limit is .08 percent.

The officer also found an open, quarter-full 24-ounce can of Milwaukee’s Best Light beer on the floor of the vehicle's passenger side, according to the report. The officer added a citation for having open intoxicants in a vehicle to the man’s charge, the report said.

The man posted a $100 cash bond, the report said.
