Police Arrest Woman for Stealing from JC Penney

Novi police provided this information.

A woman stole merchandise from a Twelve Oaks Mall store Oct. 13, according to a police report.

A JC Penney employee said she saw a female in the Sephora department quickly select several items, the report said. She looked around and another woman, her sister who was pushing a small child in a stroller, joined her, according to the report. They walked to the doors near Novi Road and passed the points of sale, the report said. They returned to the juniors’ department and picked up a few tank tops and placed them with the Sephora merchandise on the top of the stroller’s canopy, the report said.

One woman went into the fitting room with the stroller and returned without anything on the stroller’s canopy, according to the report. Employees went into the fitting room and found two tags from the tank tops the women selected earlier, the report said.
