Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse Celebrates Grand Opening in Novi

The gray weather didn't cloud spirits as the owners of Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse opened their restaurant in Novi Wednesday.

Owners Jin and Jenny Huang, Jin Li and Peter Kao celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and luncheon with members of the Novi Chamber of Commerce.

The restaurant features hibachi-style grilling in one area, and a separate area for regular dining. It also has a full-service bar and sushi bar. A banquet facility in the restaurant's basement is expected to be ready for use in November.

"It's a combination of entertainment and a neighborhood community restaurant," said General Manager Frank Lee.

Novi City Manager welcomed the restaurant on behalf of the city and added that he has already tried the food and it is "fantastic."

"It's going to be another home run," he said.
