Worldwide Day of Play

• Where: West Oaks Shopping Center (Novi Road between I-96 and 12 Mile Road)
• When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Why Go: This event, launched by Nickelodeon, will be celebrated in communities across the nation to encourage children to get active. Novi's event will kick off with a 5K to benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank at 9:15 a.m. Students are asked to bring $5 or 5 canned goods. The rest of the day will include marching bands, dance groups, cheer teams, martial arts groups, kids cardio participation, exercise/dance fun, healthy cooking demonstrations, a youth fashion show, youth speakers, youth advocates, anti-bullying campaigns and goal setting motivators. American Sewing Expo

• Where:Suburban Collection Showplace
• When: Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Pricing: $14 at the door. Parking is $5.
• Why Go: The event includes exhibits, shopping, fashion shows and sewing competitions. 

Fabulous Fall Fun Craft

• Where:Novi Public Library
• When: Saturday 1 p.m.
• Pricing: Free
• Why Go: Students in grades 3-6 are invited to come make a fall craft in the Youth Activity Room.
