Woman Arrested on Charges of Driving Under the Influence

Novi police arrested a woman 12:13 a.m. April 13 near the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Town Center Drive on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to a police report.
The officer observed a red Ford Focus with the driver's side headlight out turn south onto Novi Road from West Oaks Drive, the report said. The officer followed the vehicle and noticed that the driver's side rear brake light was also out, according to the report.Â
When the vehicle turned onto eastbound Grand River Avenue, the officer saw the driver weave and cross over into the right hand lane, the report said. The driver also did not use a turn signal when getting into the left turn lane on northbound Town Center Drive, the report said.

The officer stopped the vehicle and noticed an odor of intoxicants coming from within the vehicle, the report said. The officer also observed that the woman had bloodshot, glassy and red eyes, the report said. She said she was coming from the Tilted Kilt in Novi and drank two or three beers about an hour before, the report said.Â
She provided a breath sample with a result of .139 percent, according to the report. She was arrested and has an 8:30 a.m. hearing April 22.Â
