Woman Arrested on Marijuana Possession Charges

Novi police arrested a woman around 2:15 a.m. on April 14 near the intersection of Beck and Ten Mile roads on charges of marijuana possession, according to a police report.
The officer noticed a light blue Volvo traveling on northbound Beck Road at 59 mph in a 45 mph zone, the report said. The officer stopped the driver and noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to the report.
The officer asked the woman to step out of the vehicle and noticed her eyes were clear and she did not appear to be under the influence of marijuana, the report said. The officer searched the vehicle with the woman’s permission, and she admitted that there was a small joint in the center console, according to the report. She handed the joint to the officer, the report said.

The officer arrested her and searched the rest of her vehicle but did not find any other marijuana, according to the report. The marijuana weighed .5 grams and was tested positively as marijuana, the report said.
She was take to the Novi police department where she posted $100 bond, according to the report. She has an 8:30 a.m. hearing April 29.Â
