All Cross Streets Now Open in Downtown Rochester

Running errands in downtown Rochester just got a lot easier.

Third and Fourth streets, closed since the start of the Main Street Makeover last spring, reopened to traffic Thursday morning. 

Second Street, closed to traffic west of Main Street last month, reopened on Wednesday.

That means all cross streets are now open in downtown Rochester. 

One lane of traffic in each direction remains closed on Main Street itself. The Main Street Makeover is the rebuilding of Rochester Road; it is expected to be completely finished — with new streetscape features, trees, sidewalks and crosswalks — this fall.
