International soccer stars of the present mixed with potential stars of the future at the Pontiac Silverdome on Monday night, as Rochester Soccer Club Coach Taiser Hassan’s U10 boys team was invited to share the Silverdome field on the Invitational International Soccer Tournament’s closing evening with the international players.
The RSC U10 boys accompanied Ferencvarosi F.C. out on to the field and stood proud with them, holding flags aloft, through the Hungarian and USA national anthems. After enjoying the first half of the game from their seats, the boys came back out onto the field during the half time period. Split into white and blue shirted-teams, they played a short 6 vs 6 game to entertain the crowd, with the white team taking it 1-0, thanks to a goal from Emerson Kekhoua.

Ferencvarosi F.C., of Hungary, went on to beat their fellow Hungarian team, Vasas F.C., 2-1 in the game, much to the delight of their newest Rochester supporters. Team Manager Julia Najar was delighted with the outcome of the evening, “This is such a rare and exciting opportunity for our RSC U10 boys to be part of an international event and to see this kind of a game up close. It was such an honor to be asked to be part of this tournament and we hope it will inspire the boys in their future soccer careers.”
