Brooklands Students Advance to Global Competition

The IMAGINATORS from in Rochester Hills won second place in the Destination Imagination State Finals.

They are going to represent Michigan in the Global finals in Knoxville, TN from May 23-26.

They team won first place in the regional competition in Oakland County. This is the first time these students are entering into the competition representing the Rochester school district. 

Imaginators is a group of seven team members from Brooklands who chose to do the Project Outreach-World Canvas Challenge in Destination Imagination, which is a nonprofit educational organization charged with challenging students to work together and think on their feet to solve problems.

In this particular challenge the team needs to find a community need and create advertisements and brochures to create awareness for the need.

This team chose to create awareness about "GROUND POLLUTION" and created posters and banners with their catchy slogans  like "YOU ARE THE SOLUTION TO STOP GROUND POLLUTION".

Their goal is to collect water bottles, cans and recycle them, clean the parks and raise money to support community partner . They are also going to build recycle bins using wood with the help of community partner "Loyal Order of Moose."

The team managers are Shobana Balaji  and Roopa Tigadi. 
Team members are Ananiya Balaji, Rishma Balakrishnan, Audrey Cubba, Monish Devaradjy, Vishal Kumar, Ishita Shukla and Nidhi Tigadi.
