Crittenton's Gourmet Gala Kicks Off Holiday Season

’s Gourmet Gala Benefit celebrated its 35th year on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. This first time venue along with 40 of Metro Detroit’s finest culinary establishments and vintners drew a crowd of more than 890 community and business members to kick off the 2011 holiday season.

Long regarded as Southeastern Michigan’s premier food and wine tasting event, the 35th Annual Gourmet Gala featured 37 restaurants and 3 vintners. Offerings included seared Ahi tuna, grilled beef tenderloin, wild boar stew, homemade ice cream along with wine, liqueur and scotch tastings. In addition to gourmet cuisine, the benefit featured live entertainment, a raffle and silent auction
hosted by Haig’s Fine Jewelry of Rochester.

Since its inception, the Gourmet Gala has raised more than $2 million for Crittenton programs and services. Proceeds from the 2011 Gala will benefit Crittenton’s Cornerstone Campaign to raise funds for expanded programs and services through the addition of a . Plans for the new tower include private patient rooms, dedicated space for orthopaedic and cancer care units as well as centers for medical and nursing education.
