For the third year in a row, the Rochester Area Junior Chamber, also known as the Jaycees, will be holding their "Dear Soldier" community service project at the fireworks show on Wednesday, June 27th at Borden Park. The Junior Chamber will host a tent at this annual family event where community members can stop by and address a patriotic thank you note to our troops who are fighting overseas. The Junior Chamber will then mail these thank you cards to the troops from our community.
"We are honored to participate in a great family event in our community - the Festival of the Hills - and we look forward to doing our part to thank the men and women who give so much for our freedom,” said Michael Webber, Rochester Area Junior Chamber Community Development Vice President. “We should never forget their service, especially during this time when we celebrate our country's independence."
The Junior Chamber will open the tent at Festival of the Hills at 6 PM and keep it open until dusk, when the fireworks show begins. There is no charge to participate in this event.
