The sixth annual Habitat for Humanity benefit dinner and family game night was held at in Rochester Hills on Feb. 10th. Known as “The Kurt Ketelsen Birthday Build”, it is sponsored each year by his family to remember him on his birthday. Kurt was a building contractor in Rochester and often participated in projects in Pontiac to build or repair homes for the needy. Mr. Ketelsen died in 2005 after a long struggle with Type 1 Diabetes which he contracted at age 2. The family has chosen Habitat for Humanity as their community recipient because of Kurt’s interest in helping people as well as building and rehabing homes for those in need.

Generous donations by those who attended as well as local friends and family members across the country amounted to $6,000 for Habitat.
