
The will purchase 70 new public computers with money raised by the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.
The Friends group recently presented the library with a check for $105,000, which was raised during book sales and in the library gift shop during 2010.
In addition to the purchase of the new computers, the library will use the money to fund free public programs for adults and children in 2012.

The Friends is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that supports the library. The Friends group raises money by conducting and also through sales in their and through special fund-raisers such as the upcoming Holiday Home Tour on Nov. 13.

"Thanks to the hard work and generosity of the Friends, the library now has a motorized scooter for people with disabilities as well as mini grocery carts to help people move around the library,” said library director Christine Lind Hage in a press release.
