Rochester Hills Resident Susan L. Davies Joins Easter Seals Michigan Board of Directors

Easter Seals Michigan has appointed Susan L. Davies, Kettering University’s Vice President for University Advancement and External Relations, to its board of directors. Her responsibilities as a board member will include governing and upholding the nonprofit agency’s mission to serve people with disabilities and other special needs so that they can successfully live, learn, work and play in their communities.

“We are very excited to have Susan as a member of our board. She is very knowledgeable about fundraising methods,” says Easter Seals Michigan President and CEO Brent Wirth. “She is also extremely excited to become involved in advancing our mission within the community which helps Easter Seals Michigan accomplish our goals.”

In addition to attending requisite meetings, Easter Seals Michigan board members duties include participating in strategic planning and policy decisions, securing financial resources and monitoring program outcomes and operations.

"Easter Seals Michigan makes a tremendous difference to families who are touched by a variety of disabilities”, says Davies.

Davies’ three-year term on Easter Seals’ board is up for renewal in June, 2015. In addition to her work experience, Davies has held, or served on, several industry boards and committees, including Chairperson of CFRE International; Board of Directors for the Association of Fund Raising Professionals; Michigan State University Leadership Fellow; and Board Member for the Michigan Capital Girl Scout Council. Davies is also the winner of the 2008 Fund Raiser of the Year by the AFP Metro Detroit Chapter; named one of the 2011 Esteemed Women of Michigan and won the President’s Award 2011 by the AFP Metro Detroit Chapter. She is also written articles for the Michigan Non-Profit
Forum Newsletter and OU Journal.

She currently resides in Rochester Hills with her husband, Timothy.
