Andrea Matuska of Rochester Hills won two prestigious awards at Kettering University's commencement Dec. 10.
Matuska, who graduated summa cum laude from Kettering with bachelor's degrees in biochemistry and chemical engineering, was awarded the Outstanding Thesis Award for her work entitled, "Development of functional in Vitro Assays to determine the anti-inflammatory effects of an autologus solution prepared from whole blood." The Outstanding Thesis Award is given to students who have demonstrated excellence in their senior thesis project.
Matuska was also awarded the President's Medal. These awards are given to students who show extraordinary professionalism in their job performance with a corporate sponsor, demonstrate outstanding scholarship and who make notable contributions to Kettering, Greater Flint and their home communities.
