Back-To-School Weather: Cooler, Rain Possible

The National Weather Service is calling for a partly sunny day with a high of about 73 on Tuesday. Rain is predicted for after 2 p.m.

METRO DETROIT, MI. — The first day of school for metropolitan Detroit students could be wet. That’s the word from the National Weather Service, which predicts a 30 percent chance of rain after 2 p.m.

It will also be a little cool, with a high of about 73 degrees. The National Weather Service says the possibility of rain will continue until about 8 p.m. Here’s a look at the weather forecast for the remainder of the work week:

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. West northwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 67. West northwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Wednesday Night: A chance of showers before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday: A chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 65. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Thursday Night: A chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
