The Oakland Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Gregory Cunningham, kicks off its inaugural season with a diverse selection of music. Cunningham's diverse musical selections include a more traditional classical work by Felix Mendelssohn, a Hindemith piece that features only brass and woodwind instruments, a dramatic operatic overture by Giuseppe Verdi and a concerto sung in a single syllable, without words. The concert will be held in OU's Varner Recital Hall. General admission tickets may be purchased on-line on the Star Tickets Plus website or over the phone by calling the Varner Box Office at (248) 370-3013.
