ROCHESTER -- Sunday, April 7 is Good Deeds Day and keeping in the annual tradition, the city of Rochester is doing its part. Good Deeds Day is an international event with millions of participants in over 100 countries paying it forward through good deeds both large and small on this day.

For Rochester’s Good Deed, the community is collecting children’s items for Neighborhood House.

“Good Deeds Day is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together for a common goal”, stated Deputy City Manager Nik Banda. “This is our fourth year participating in Good Deeds Day and I know it will be the best one yet!”

How to get involved

Rochester’s Good Deeds Day will be held at the Rochester Fire Department, 277 E. Second Street, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The day will also include kids’ activities, tours of the Fire Station, fire & police vehicles and much more.

Children’s items needed include new children’s clothing, new children’s tennis shoes,

diapers (sizes 4-6), birthday cake mix, frosting, birthday plates & napkins and birthday candles.
