Help Decorate Main Street With Scarecrows This Fall

Businesses and organizations are invited to help decorate Rochester Hill's Main Street for the fall. Here's how to get involved.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — It’s that time of year again. As summer winds down, it’s time to think about fall. With that said, the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm is gearing up for its Scarecrows in the City Building Workshop Oct. 3. The event will run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is an opportunity for businesses or organizations to participate in the Stone Wall Pumpkin Festival and take part in decorating Rochester’s Main Street for fall, family fun.

The Museum will provide the wooden frame, straw, signage and moving logistics from Museum to Main St. You just provide accessories for the scarecrow’s head, clothing, manpower and some imagination.
The cost for the workshop is $50 for businesses and $40 for non-profit organizations.

The scarecrows are also a great marketing tool, organizers say, as they are seen by thousands of residents each year.
