Here's How To Send Extra Halloween Candy To Troops
These local police stations are collecting Halloween candy this year to send to troops serving overseas.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — What will your family do with that extra Halloween candy this year? Whether sharing from your child’s massive candy collection or any leftover goodies trick-or-treaters didn’t claim, there’s a good way to put those leftover pieces of fun to good use: send them to the troops overseas.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office (the main station in Pontiac and the substations, such as in Rochester Hills) will be collecting Halloween candy for the ninth year for the special “Treats for Troops” program.
“Treats for Troops is a great way parents can participate in a community service project with their kids while showing our troops we support them back home,” said Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

Bouchard also encourages parents and children wishing to participate to include notes (thank you, holiday, etc.) to the troops with the donation.
Halloween candy (individually wrapped, no chocolate please) may be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office substations. Schools wishing to do candy collection with students may do so, too.

Candy will be accepted until Nov. 5
