METRO DETROIT, MI -- A local company is doing their part to help the area's shelter animals in need of a furever home.

AutoPets, maker of the Litter-Robot and headquartered in Auburn Hills, has donated more than 900 litter boxes and 6,000 stainless-steel food bowls to the Michigan Humane Society, an estimated value of nearly $100,000. The donation will assist the Michigan Humane Society in providing a safe, nurturing environment for hundreds of cats, ultimately helping them find their ‘furever’ homes.

“This generous donation will help us care for our cats during their stay with us,” said Anna Chrisman, Media Manager with the Michigan Humane Society. “During times when we have a high population of felines, we will now be able to provide litter boxes and bowls to families and volunteers who kindly open their homes to adopt or foster our cats.”

The donated products will also be given to families who adopts a cat at the Michigan Humane Society’s “Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo” event taking place at the Detroit Zoo May 17-18, the organization’s biggest adoption event of the year. The donated products also will be distributed through the Michigan Humane Society’s Pet Pantry, which provides animal care supplies to pet owners who need assistance.

“Our passion for helping pets and their owners is a driving force behind AutoPets,” said Jacob Zuppke, Executive Vice President of AutoPets. “Being able to share our products with the Michigan Humane Society is just a small way we can give back and thank them for their unwavering commitment to animals in need.”
