Man Arrested In Connection With Rochester Hills Home Invasions: Police
Officials said the man was placed in the Oakland County Jail with a bond set at $1 million.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A Pontiac man was arrested in connection with a series of thefts and home invasions in Rochester Hills, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Franky Steven Humpkins, 36, was charged with five counts of attempted home invasion, two counts of breaking and entering and one each of count of credit card fraud, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was placed in the Oakland County Jail with a bond set at $1 million.

If convicted on each, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
"I am proud of our team and the work and many hours they put into identifying, locating and arresting this habitual offender," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "Sadly, once again we have an individual with multiple arrests for illegal weapons back out in the street. He was actually out on probation for weapons charges and on bail with additional weapons charges when we arrested him with yet another weapon. This has to stop. Thank heavens no one was hurt during this crime spree he committed in Rochester Hills."

Officials believe Humpkins broke into more than 25 homes and vehicles in Rochester Hills between Dec. 22-29.
He was ultimately arrested Thursday in Pontiac after officials revived a tip, according to the sheriff's office.
Officers also found a loaded Sig Sauer pistol in his vehicle during the arrest, according to the sheriff's office.
Humpkins has prior felony convictions for fraud, larceny and breaking and entering, according to the sheriff's office.
He was released on bond after being charged with felony firearm possession in a Grand Rapids courtroom. He's also on probation in relation to a felony firearm possession charge in a Kent County courtroom.
