Oakland County Communities To Take Part In Drug Take Back Event

Several Oakland County communities are taking part in a prescription drug collection event Saturday.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Several Oakland County communities are taking part in a prescription drug collection event Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at several locations, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and Drug Enforcement Administration are holding one-day prescription drug take-back events, along with other agencies across the nation.

Anyone interested to drop off outdated or unused prescriptions can do so at any of the sites.

For the sheriff's office, the effort is an extension of Operation Medicine Cabinet, a year-round drug take-back program that launched in 2009.

  • Addison Township Substation – 1440 Rochester Rd., Leonard
  • Brandon Township Substation – 15 South St., Ortonville
  • Commerce Township Fire Station #2 – 9170 Commerce Rd., Commerce
  • Highland Township Substation – 165 North John St., Highland
  • Independence Twp. Substation – 6560 Citation Dr., Independence Twp.
  • Orion Township Substation – 2525 Joslyn Rd., Orion Township
  • Rochester Hills Substation – 750 Barclay Circle, Rochester Hills
