Online Meeting Leads To Alleged Rape

A Rochester Hills woman says she was sexually assaulted in her apartment by a man she met via social media, according to police.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A 31-year-old Rochester Hills woman was recently sexually assaulted in her apartment, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The woman told deputies she met a man via social media and agreed to go to a movie with him after he picked her up at her apartment.

Police reports said the man arrived in the early morning hours of Aug. 29, but instead of taking her out, sexually assaulted her after being let into the apartment. The suspect is described as a white male, 6-foot 3-inches to 6-5 in height and approximately 37 years old.

Deputies spoke with the woman at Troy Beaumont Hospital where she was being treated in the emergency room. Police reports didn’t make clear the extent of her injuries. The incident is under investigation.

A 16-year-old Rochester Hills boy was arrested by Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies on Sept. 2 after allegedly hitting a woman with a beer bottle. Deputies and the city of Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to the 3400 block of Cherry Road at about 7 a.m. after the boy’s mother called 911, according to police reports.

The blow by the teenager caused the woman to seriously bleed, reports stated. The boy fled the home after deputies were called, but he was apprehended a short time later. He is currently being detained at Children’s Village in Pontiac and the incident is currently under investigation.

The woman was treated on-site for her injuries by paramedics. Reports didn’t indicate the exact extent of her injuries, or if she was transported to any medical facility.
