OU Board Silent on Departure of President, Women's Basketball Coach
Report: Board members entered into 'nondisparagement agreement' over president's departure.

In the time since Oakland University women's basketball coach Beckie Francis was fired last week—just hours after the departure of her husband, OU President Gary Russi—members of the school's board of trustees have remained largely silent on the pair's sudden departures, according to a report by Crain's Detroit.
According to Crain's Detroit, a source indicated to the publication that the board members have entered into a "nondisparagement agreement" to not discuss Russi's retirement, which was announced just hours before the school announced his wife's firing.
Russi is slated to retire effective Aug. 1, while Associate Vice President for Outreach Betty Youngblood will become interim president as the university seeks a successor.
