Rochester Hills Councilmember Seeking Seat on College Board of Trustees

Ravi Yalamanchi is one of 13 candidates running for 2 spots on the OCC board.

Rochester Hills City Councilmember Ravi Yalamanchi is looking to add a new duty to his long list of community involvements: that of Oakland Community College Trustee.

Yalamanchi is vying for a six-year term on the college's governing board this November. It's a nonpartisan, volunteer position. If elected, Yalamanchi will still be able to keep his spot on City Council.

In his campaign flier, Yalamanchi says he will "promote quality education at an affordable price, promote curriculum that aligns with sector needs and growth areas, promote technology and training in vocational and technical trades, and promote collaboration with business, government and nonprofits."
