Rochester Hills 'Dream Team' Biking 3 Days for Wishes

When 4,000 each spring in Rochester, it all comes down to this: a bike tour of the state, with proceeds helping grant a wish for Michigan children.

Donetta and Ted Behen of Rochester Hills founded the Rochester Rubber Ducky Race six years ago to help raise funds for Make-A-Wish Michigan, which helped their family when their daughter,

The money raised from the spring duck race specifically helps support the Behen's "Dream Team," a group of 25 who rode a three-day bike tour through Michigan this weekend. 

Throughout the event, Donetta Behen udpated Patch readers with photos, video and observations. 

"We do this all for the children," she said throughout. 

This is the 25th year for the Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour. Riders and volunteers take in the Michigan scenery from Traverse City to Brooklyn, with stops in Big Rapids and Dewitt. Participants ride and volunteer in honor of Wish Heroes – kids who have had or will soon have their wishes granted. Participants and Wish Heroes re-unite with each other at the finishing line at the famous Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
