Rochester Police Invites Community to Open House on Saturday

The Rochester Police Department is inviting the public to an open house and bike rodeo Saturday.

The event runs 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rochester Police Department, 400 Sixth Street. 

Police officials will offer tours of the station and the department's vehicles, firearms demonstrations, free gun safety locks, an evidence collection demonstration, child safety seat inspections, a police motorcycle skills course demonstration and a Homeland Security helicopter viewing.

The event also will provide additional services for attendees, including a free drop-off for unwanted prescription drugs, a bike safety inspection and free bike helmets for children. Children are encouraged to bring their bicycles to participate in the bike safety rodeo.
