UPS Hiring Seasonal Workers In Oakland County
Some 35% of workers hired for the holidays find permanent jobs with UPS, company officials say.
PONTIAC, MI — As the holiday season draws closer, UPS in Oakland County is still hiring for more than 75 positions, including driver helpers, package handlers and seasonal drivers.
To help fill some of these openings, UPS will be hosting a hiring fair Wednesday until 1:30 p.m.at the Pontiac facility located at 1056 Cesar Chavez Ave. Open interviews will also take place this week, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Seasonal and part-time jobs have long served as a foot in the door to a career at UPS, company officials said. About 35 percent of the people UPS hired in the past three years for seasonal package handler jobs stayed with the company on a permanent basis after the holidays.
